Manners, Robert (2 January 1758 - 9 June 1823)

 Son of General Lord Robert Manners.

Cornet 3rd Dragoon Guards 1775, Lieutenant 3rd Dragoon Guards 1778, Captain 86th Foot* 1779, Major 80th Foot+ 1782, Lieutenant Colonel 84th Foot+ 1784, half-pay 1784, Captain-Lieutenant and Lieutenant Colonel  3rd Foot Guards 1787, Captain and Lieutenant Colonel 3rd Foot Guards 1791, 2nd Major 3rd Foot Guards 1795, Brevet Colonel 1794, Major General 1796, Lieutenant General 1803, General 1813.

* disbanded 1783.  + disbanded 1784.

Early Service:  in the fleet and West Indies 1779 and prisoner of war.

Service 1793-1815:  Flanders 1793-1794 and wounded, Home Staff 1796-1802 and   Helder 1799 and  Mediterranean 1799-1800, Home Staff 1803-1806.

M.P. 1784-1790, 1791-1820. Colonel-Commandant 2/9th Foot 1799-1799, Colonel 30th Foot 1799-1823.
