Warde, Henry (7 January 1766 - 1 October 1834)

Younger brother of General George Warde.

Ensign 1st Foot Guards 1783, Lieutenant & Captain 1st Foot Guards 1790, Captain & Lieutenant Colonel 1st Foot Guards 1794,  Regimental Major 1st Foot Guards 1811, Brevet Colonel 1801, Brigadier General on the Staff 1804-1808, Major General 1808, Lieutenant General 1813, General 1830.

Early service: Flanders 1793-1794 and wounded,  raid on Ostend-Bruges Canal 1798, Helder 1799, on Home Staff 1804-1808,  brigade Copenhagen 1807.

Portugal & Spain: Commanded a Guards Brigade Spain 1808-1809 and at Corunna 1809. 

Other service: On staff India 1809-1811 and commanded on Mauritius 1810-1811. Governor of Barbadoes 1821-1827.

KB 1815. GCB 1831.  Colonel of 68th Foot 1813-1831, 31st Foot 1831-1834.
