Colonel 68th Foot 1797, Captain and Lieutenant Colonel 3rd Foot Guards
1799, Brevet Colonel 1805, Brigadier General on the Staff 1808-1809.
Early service: Flanders 1793-1794, attached Austrian
Head Quarters 1796, West Indies 1797, Deputy Quartermaster-General
Helder 1799, Deputy Quartermaster-General Home Staff 1799, Quartermaster-General
Mediterranean 1800 and Egypt 1801-1802, Deputy Quartermaster-General
and then Adjutant-General Ireland 1803-1808. Commanded brigade Home
Portugal & Spain: Commanded 7th Brigade Portugal
and at Vimeiro 1808. Commanded a brigade in Spain 1808-1809. Died from
effects of the campaign at Corunna 1809.
Aide de Camp to the King 1805.
