Manningham, Coote (1765? - 26 August 1809)

Ensign 39th Foot 1782, Lieutenant 71st Foot 1783*, Lieutenant 39th Foot 1783, Captain 100th Foot+ 1785, Half-pay 1785-1787, Captain 39th Foot 1787, Major 45th Foot 1791, Lieutenant Colonel 105th Foot^ 1794, Lieutenant Colonel 41st Foot 1795-1800, Brevet Colonel 1798, Major General 1805. *disbanded 1783. +disbanded 1785. ^ disbanded 1795.

Early service: Gibraltar 1783, West Indies 1793-1797 served as an Adjutant General 1795 and wounded. Raised the first regiment of British riflemen for service 1800. Served on Home Staff 1805-1808.

Portugal & Spain: Commanded brigade Spain 1808-1809 and at Corunna 1809. Died from effects of the campaign 1809.

Aide-de-Camp to the King 1798. Colonel Commandant and Colonel of Rifle Corps [later numbered 95th Foot] 1800-1809.
