Campbell, Henry Frederick (10 July 1769 - 3 September 1856)

Son of Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Campbell.

Ensign 1st Foot Guards 1786, Lieutenant & Captain 1st Foot Guards 1793, Captain-Lieutenant & Lieutenant Colonel 1st Foot Guards 1796, Captain & Lieutenant Colonel 1st Foot Guards 1796, Regimental Major 1st Foot Guards 1813, Brevet Colonel 1803, Brigadier General on the Staff 1808-1810, Major General 1810, Lieutenant General 1814, General 1837.

Early service: Flanders 1793-1795, Helder 1799, Sicily 1806.

Portugal & Spain: Commanded Guards Brigade Portugal 1809.

Peninsular War: Commanded Guards Brigade April - June 1809 and Guards Brigade 1st Division June - July 1809, June - July 1811 and August 1811 - July 1812 and  temporarily commanded the 1st Division July - August 1811 and July - October 1812. Wounded Talavera July 1809. Wounded Salamanca July 1812.

Other service: On Home Staff 1810.

ADC to the King 1803. MP 1796-1802, 1806-1807. KCB 1815. GCH 1818.  Colonel of 88th Foot 1824-1831, 25th Foot 1831-1856.
