Hinüber, Henry de (Heinrich von Hinüber) (1767 - 2 December 1833)

Styled Henry de Hinüber only while in British Service.

Entered Hanoverian Army Ensign 1781, Lieutenant 1781,  Captain 1788, Major 6th Infantry Regiment 1798.  Joined British Service in King's German Legion 1803,  temporary rank of Major 1st Line Battalion KGL 1803,  Lieutenant Colonel 3rd Line Battalion KGL 1804, Brevet Colonel 1805, Major General 1811, permanent rank in British Army 1812,  Lieutenant General 1819. British half-pay 1816. Major General Hanoverian Service 1816,  Lieutenant General Hanoverian Service 1818.

Early Service: Sicily 1809-1813.

Peninsular War: Commanded brigade KGL 1st Division October 1813-April 1814.

Other Service: Commanded Division KGL The Netherlands 1814-1815. Commanded 4th Division Flanders 1815 and resigned appointment before Waterloo 1815. Commanded 2nd Infantry Brigade Hanoverian Army 1820. Commanded 2nd Division, X Army Corps of the Federal German Army 1831.

Colonel of the 3rd Line Battalion KGL 1805-1816. Colonel of the 5th Infantry Regiment Luneburg Hanoverian Army 1816.

KCB (Honourary) 1815.
