Inglis, William  (1764- 29 November 1835)

Ensign 57th Foot 1779, Lieutenant 57th Foot 1782, Captain-Lieutenant 57th Foot 1785, Captain 57th Foot 1788, Brevet Major 1795, Major 57th Foot 1795, Brevet Lieutenant Colonel 1800, Lieutenant-Colonel 57th 1804, Brevet Colonel 1810, Brigadier General on the Staff 1813, Major General 1813, Lieutenant General 1825.

Early Service: North America 1781-1791, Flanders 1793-1795, West Indies 1796-1802, Gibraltar 1805-1809.

Peninsular War: Served with his regiment 1809-1813. Temporarily commanded brigade 2nd Division September -October 1810. Commanded brigade 7th Division May 1813-April 1814. Wounded at Albuera May 1811.

KCB 1815.  Colonel of the 57th Foot 1830-1835.
