Power, Manley (1773 - 7 July 1826)

Son of Captain Thomas Power.

Ensign 20th Foot 1785, Lieutenant 20th Foot 1789, Captain Independent Company 1793, Captain 20th Foot 1794,  Major 20th Foot 1799, Lieutenant-Colonel 20th Foot 1801, Half-pay 1802, Lieutenant Colonel 32nd Foot 1805, Brevet Colonel 1810, Major General 1813, Lieutenant General 1825.

Served in Portuguese Service 1811-1814. Promoted  Brigadier 1811, Major General 1813. 

Early Service: British North America 1795-1797,  Helder 1799,  Minorca 1800, Egypt 1801-1802, Assistant Adjutant-General Home Staff 1803-1805.

Peninsular War: Commanded brigades of the Portuguese Army 1811-1814. Temporarily commanded 3rd Division September-October 1813.

Other Service: Commanded brigade War of 1812 British North America 1814-1815. Commanded 11th Brigade  France 1815. Commanded 2nd Brigade Army of Occupation 1815-1818. Lieutenant Governor of Malta 1820-1826.
