De Grey, George  (11 June 1776 - 26 April 1831)

Son of 2nd Baron  Walsingham

Cornet 1st Dragoons 1794,  Lieutenant 1st Dragoons 1794, Captain 25th Light Dragoons* 1794, Major 25th Light Dragoons* 1795, Lieutenant Colonel 26th Light Dragoons+ 1799, Lieutenant-Colonel 1st Dragoons 1799,  Brevet Colonel 1808, Major General 1811, Lieutenant General 1821.

* renumbered 22nd Light Dragoons. + renumbered 23rd Light Dragoons.

Early Service: Cape of Good Hope & India 1796-1800 and at Seringapatam 1799. Assistant Adjutant-General Home Staff 1803-1805.

Peninsular War: Served with his regiment from 1809. Commanded cavalry brigade May 1810-July 1811.

Other Service: On Home Staff 1813-1814. 

Aide De Camp to the King 1808.  Succeeded as 3rd Baron  1818.
