Mackinnon,  Henry  (1773 -  19 January 1812)

(also spelt as M'Kinnon)

Ensign 43rd Foot 1790, Lieutenant 43rd Foot 1792,  Captain Independent Company 1793,  Lieutenant & Captain 2nd Foot Guards 1793, Captain & Lieutenant-Colonel 2nd Foot Guards 1799, Brevet Colonel 1809, Brigadier General on the Staff 1811, Major General 1812.

Early Service: Flanders 1793-1795, Brigade Major Ireland 1798,  Egypt 1801-1802, Hanover 1805, Copenhagen 1807. 

Peninsular War: Commandant of Talavera July 1809, commanded brigade 3rd Division November 1809-July 1811 and October 1811-January 1812.  Killed in action at assault of Ciudad Rodrigo 1812.
