Eylau: Precis Des Travaux de la Grande Armée
Capitulation of the Fort of Czentoschau: November 19, 1806
Capitulation conducted between Mr. Deschamps, head of the squadron, member of the Legion of honor, in the service of H. M. the Emperor of the French, and King of Italy; and Mr. Kune, major in the service of H. M. the King of Prussia, and commander of the fort of Czentoschau, for the rendering of this named fort, November 19, 1806.
ART. Ier. The fort of Czentoschau will be given on November 19 to the French troops in the state that it is currently in.
II. The garrison will leave the place with the honors of the war, and will lay down their weapons on the glacis. They will be captives of war and conducted to France.
III. Mr. the commander of the fort and the officers of the garrison will be prisoners of war. They will have freedom to withdraw when it will seem good to them, by giving their word of honor not to be useful against France and its allies until after their exchange; they will preserve their weapons and luggage.
IV. If there were among the officers of the garrison, Poles, they would have freedom to take up service in Poland.
V. At once the capitulation is signed, the garrison will evacuate the fort; the French troops in their place, and will continue to occupy the interior and external posts.
VI. Safe guards will be given to the officers of the outposts, to put them at ease from the problems connected to them.
VII. They will receive passports not to be stopped on their roads by the French troops that they could meet.
VIII. The suspension of the hostilities will take place as soon as the capitulation is signed.
IX. The military case and other cases belonging to H. M. the King of Prussia must also be given to the French troops.
