Detachments which could have joined in time to take part in the operations of the December Campaign.
The 6th Light, depot at Landau, had a detachment in the battalion of light infantry, which left Strasbourg on September 28 and crossed at Leipzig on October 24.
The 39th Line, depot at Landau, was to have a detachment in the 3rd battalion of infantry that left Strasbourg on September 28. I could not however affirm this. A detachment of 10 men of this regiment crossed at Mainz on October 7, probably embarked on a boat that went down to Mainz instead of stopping in Mannheim.
The 69th, depot in Luxembourg, received with its journey to Berlin a detachment which crossed the Rhine at Mainz on October 9 with a strength of 107 men, and had only 99 men present for the review of the Emperor on October 31.
The 76th, depot at Landau, were to have a detachment in the 3rd battalion of infantry that left Strasbourg on September 26. I could not however affirm it any more than for the 39th.
The 25th Light, depot at Verdun, received with its journey to Berlin a detachment which crossed the Rhine at Mainz on October 9 with a strength of 278 men, and had 274 men present for the review of the Emperor on October 31.
A detachment of 1 officer and 10 men of the 27th Line, depot in Mainz, started from this place on November 3; a second detachment of 1 officer and 100 men left on November 9.
The 50th, depot with the reserve corps in Boulogne, had in the second column coming from Boulogne and leaving Mainz on October 10, a detachment of 314 men which passed in review for the Emperor on October 31 and awaited the arrival of the 6th Corps at Spandau.
The 59th, depot in Luxembourg, received with its journey to Berlin a detachment which crossed the Rhine at Mainz on October 9 with a strength of 107 men, and had 103 men present at the review by the Emperor on October 31.
The 3rd Hussars received a detachment of 21 mounted hussars, coming from its depot at Hasselt, which crossed the Rhine at Mainz on October 7.
The 10th Chasseurs received in the same way a detachment of 49 mounted chasseurs, coming from its depot at Masseyck, which crossed the Rhine at Mainz on October 9 and appeared for the review of the Emperor on October 31.
The depot of the 6th Corps was in Spandau. Order of the Army of November 4, 1806.
Notes:
1. There is not any muster roll of the 6th Corps in January 1807. A summary muster of those present on December 29, dated back to Neidenburg, also carries the same figures as the situation of the 25th.
2. Eighteen companies of the various regiments of the 6th Corps, announces the orders of the General Roguet, were detached with the escort of the prisoners of the garrison of Magdeburg and could join their regiments only in the midst of January. The escort of the first column left Mainz on November 30, that of 2nd December 1; that of 3rd December 2.
Moreover, the 9th Elite Battalion was formed of the elite companies 3rd battalions of the 6th Light, 39th and 69th Line; the 10th Battalion of those of the 27th, 59th and 76th; these 2 battalions constituted the 5th Regiment.
3. The 25th Light is announced to be –on the way join the army.– This regiment had approximately 1,800 men present.
