Detachments, which could have joined in at time convenient to take part in the operations of the December Campaign.

The 16th Light, depot at Neuf-Brisach, did not receive anyone before the December operations.

The 14th Line, depot at Sedan, which had crossed the Rhine at Mainz on October 2 with 2 battalions of 1,870 men present under arms, had remained for 15 days at Erfurth and had provided escorts for the prisoners of war.  It had more men than are related from the muster roll of December 15.  A detachment of 23 men left Mainz for the army on October 3rd; one of 45 men left the 8th; one of 81 men the 10th; and one of 5 officers and 156 men on October 22nd.

The 44th, depot at Neuf-Brisach, had a company of voltigeurs, 80 men strong those of the 3rd battalion, in the 3rd battalion of infantry, which left Strasbourg on September 28 and crossed at Leipzig on October 23.  The statement of the review by the Emperor of October 30 carries:  «80 voltigeurs of the 3rd battalion will remain in Berlin to form the elite battalion.  To muster up with the grenadier company of the 3rd battalion, which is with the army.»1

The 105th, depot at Neuf-Brisach, had in the same way in the 3rd battalion that left Strasbourg on September 28, a company of voltigeurs, 83 men strong, which was retained in Berlin.

The 7th Light, depot at Huningue, had a detachment in the battalion of light infantry, which left Strasbourg on September 28 and crossed at Leipzig on October 24. 

The 24th Line, depot at Huningue, had a detachment in the 2nd battalion of infantry, which left Strasbourg on September 26 and appeared at the review for the Emperor on October 30.  The statement carries:  «12 voltigeurs and 17 grenadiers of the 24th Line will leave Berlin today to join their regiments; these grenadiers and voltigeurs will be built-into the companies of the first 3 battalions.  The warrant officers will remain in Spandau and the officers in addition with the staff. »

The 63rd, depot in Belfort, had a detachment in the 1st battalion of infantry.  The statement of the review by the Emperor of October 30 carries:  «the grenadier company of the 3rd battalion of 63rd and that of voltigeurs will remain in Berlin to form an elite battalion.  The total of these 2 companies present at the review is of 50 men. » 

The 7th Chasseurs, received a detachment of 1 officer and 80 mounted chasseurs at Potsdam and that started out on November 14, which came partly from the dismounted men directly from Strasbourg to the army on September 26.

The 20th Chasseurs did not receive detachments before the December campaign.

The depot of the 7th Corps was in Küstrin.  Order of the Army of November 4, 1806.

1. The 11th Elite Battalion was formed of elite companies of elite of the 3rd battalions of the 16th Light, 44th and 105th Line; the 12th Battalion of those of the 7th Light, 24th and 63rd Line; these two battalions constitute the 6th Regiment
