The attached documents are copies of communications and orders that were given by the French headquarters of the Army of the North during the 1815 Waterloo Campaign. Some are from Napoleon, while others are from Marshal Soult, his Chief-of-Staff or other officers on his staff or commanding units. They are of great interest!
A note on translation: We have included both the document in its original French and a modern English translation of it. Due to the differences in modern French and that which was used 200 years ago, you may find that our translations are different than what you may have. However, these original documents provide us with insight on how orders were given and reports were made!
