Was best known as the battle
of Egmont-aan-Zee or Egmont-op-Zee. The result of the battle was that the British
and Russians could occupy Alkmaar 2 days later, but Alkmaar itself was never
fought in or over.

At 4.00 pm the battle seemed to be won by the Austrians. But
thanks to the reinforcements of the French led Desaix, France won the
battle. The battle has a lot of similarities with Waterloo. One of
the most vital battles for Napoleon.
