The Saxon Army in 1810: the Uniform Plates of Alexander Sauerweid
In 1810, the well-known artist Alexander Sauerweid drew
a series of 30 plates on the army of the Kingdom of Saxony. These plates
represents the most
important source for the evaluation of the uniforms
and equipment after the army reform of 1810.
These drawings originally appeared on line in German by our partner, Napoleon
Online and are used with the permission of the Landes-
und Universitätsbibliothek Darmstadt. I would
also like to thank Markus Gärtner. Please note that Markus
Stein holds the copyright on all of these images.
