Napoleonic War Art: Paintings, Graphic Art and Sculptures depicting Individuals or Scenes associated with the Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars

By Caroline Miley , with input from James Curlin

This is a listing of art works relating to the Revolutionary and NapoleonicWars, of which the images are available online on the websites of major museums.

The listing is not exhaustive. If an art work cannot be found on this listing it may still be worth searching the sites individually.

Some museums and galleries are under-represented; others, especially the National Portrait Gallery (London) are over-represented. The degree of representation is a function of the online catalogue-searching resources offered by the museums.

Similarly, the information offered on these sites varies according to the institution. The aim of this listing is to provide a resource for researchers, not exhaustive information on the art works or subjects.

This is a work in progress. It is hoped to expand the listings from time to time. Contributions will be gratefully received.
