The Quarter-Master-General's Department

The Quarter-Master-General’s Department was responsible for equipment, quartering, routes, and disposition of formations in the army. At the army level it consisted of the Quarter-Master-General, a Deputy Quarter-Master-General, Assistant Quarter-Master-Generals, and Deputy Assistant Quarter-Master-Generals. A division would have an Assistant Quarter-Master-General, and a Deputy Assistant Quarter-Master-General assigned to it.

Was Deputy Quartermaster General in Ireland from 1804 – 1807 and the expedition to Copenhagen in 1807. Was a diplomat to Sweden in 1808. Served as the Quartermaster General in the Peninsula.

Returned back to England in summer of 1813, was an ADC to the Duke of York and then served with General Graham in Holland in 1813 and 1814. Was with his regiment at Waterloo.
